City hears midterm update on 'Innovate Arlington' comprehensive-plan process
City planning staff and MIG consultants presented a Phase 2 update on Innovate Arlington, showing a 12-place-type framework, a transect approach, three alternative growth scenarios and robust community engagement (81 board-game sessions, 660+ participants). Staff said a forthcoming market and fiscal analysis will test scenario feasibility.

John Chapman, the city's long-range planning manager, opened a presentation to the City Council on Nov. 4 describing Phase 2 of Innovate Arlington, a comprehensive-plan update to guide development over the next 20 years. "We have a very exciting presentation for y'all today about Innovate Arlington," Chapman said, noting staff and consultant deliverables and engagement to date.
