The County Manager presented six individually considered items after the consent agenda; the board approved all six by voice vote.
Approved items included: purchase of a 2025 Ford F-150 for the Roadway SPLOST construction inspection division ($44,527, funded with 2024 SPLOST funds); purchase of a 2026 Ford Transit passenger van for the UGA Extension Office ($61,450, to be reimbursed by the Extension office); a professional services agreement with RENT, Inc. for landfill compliance monitoring (not to exceed $201,285) covering groundwater and methane sampling, regulatory liaison and related tasks; Task Order 2 under a Nova Engineering agreement for construction materials testing on the Katz administrative building (approximately $54,713.80, funded primarily with FTA funds and a small SPLOST match); a multi‑year agreement with Bennett Fire Products for Globe firefighting boots (approximately $555 per pair, total not to exceed $100,000 over two years); and a personnel-management system for Fire and EMS with initial prorated cost of $24,995.25 for FY2026 and $53,250 annually thereafter through a negotiated GSA contract.
County Manager noted competitive quotes and funding sources (SPLOST, FTA, departmental operating budgets) and explained that the Extension Office will reimburse the county for operating costs for the van. All motions were seconded and approved unanimously.
Next steps: Procurement and the respective departments will execute contracts and process purchases in accordance with county procedures.
