Student urges district plan to handle protests, urges training and clear protocols

The speaker asked the district to outline expectations in writing, create a structured protocol for demonstrations and provide on‑campus wellness spaces during limited demonstrations.
A second public commenter described the proposal as a pathway for civic instruction and encouraged turning protest energy into educational work: "When it is said this occurred, hopefully every civics based response will question discussions about constitutional rights and civics responsibility," the Public commenter said. The commenter urged staff training so that teachers and administrators "remain professionally neutral while ensuring safety."
The board did not take formal action on the proposal; members acknowledged the request and asked staff to consider the ideas as part of broader communication and safety planning. No disciplinary changes were adopted during the meeting; speakers framed their request as seeking guidance, not confrontation.
