Council confirms Planning & Zoning appointment, accepts oil-change petition

The Covington City Council confirmed Pamela McKay as the District A appointment to the Covington Planning and Zoning Commission to fill an unexpired term and adopted resolution 2026-07 to that effect.
Later the council considered resolution 2026-08 acknowledging an application for an oil-change business at 73018 Highway 25. Councilman Bushnell said the code requires a petitioner to notify property owners within 300 feet and present written approval; he told the council the owners had obtained the necessary written approval from property owners and had mailed notice to adjacent properties. The council adopted the resolution by roll call with no public opposition.
No procedural conditions were added to either action; the council proceeded to other agenda items following the votes.
