Commissioners approve Glory Park boundary change to include Medal of Honor Museum site

The Arlington Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on March 5 to approve a boundary adjustment (Z06‑40/R2) that brings the National Medal of Honor Museum site at 1111 AT&T Way fully into the Glory Park plan development.
Kevin Charles, principal planner in Planning and Development Services, told the commission the site is approximately 1.508 acres and that consolidating it into the Glory Park PD will allow the museum to be developed under a single set of standards rather than split standards. Jack Hill spoke in support on behalf of the museum team. Commissioner Sumter moved approval and Commissioner Payne seconded; the motion passed 9‑0.
Staff said the request aligns the parcel with the original conceptual plan for the area and will simplify future development and permitting for the museum site. The commission’s action is a recommendation to City Council for formal ordinance action.
