The future‑use map is intended to indicate possible future zoning changes and is not a zoning map; staff repeatedly said the map does not change current zoning.
Public commenters praised the effort and suggested several priorities for additional work: clearer availability of the red‑line documents and maps online (commenters said they could not find the map), more detailed water analysis and flood‑risk assessment (including potential impacts from nearby mining operations), exploration of accessory dwelling units to increase affordable housing stock, and formation of a working group to focus on low‑ and moderate‑income housing policy.
Staff urged written comments by 5 p.m. Nov. 7 and said the map and plan would be revised as public input and legal review warrant. No final adoption vote occurred at the hearing.
