Knox County forms rural transportation task force to advance transit study

The group will collaborate with Galesburg Transit and city officials to develop actionable route plans and cost estimates.
Chair outlined the task force’s purpose and timeline, saying the transit study is near completion and the task force should work on monetary figures and potential routes over the next six to nine months. He said the task force will provide monthly status reports to the board.
The motion to form the task force passed on roll call with 14 ayes. The next steps include coordinating with city transit staff and producing a schedule and financing proposals for board consideration.
