The City Commission set an application deadline of Jan. 17, 2023 at 4:30 p.m., will hold candidate introductions Jan. 17 and interviews on Feb. 7, and scheduled a special meeting on Feb. 15 to select and approve an appointment to fill the vacant commission seat through November 2025.

The Mount Clemens City Commission approved a timeline and notice for filling a vacant city commission seat created by a resignation effective Dec. 31, 2022. Under the city charter, the remaining commissioners must fill the vacancy by majority vote; if the vacancy is not filled within 60 days, a special election must be held.
