Committee authorizes one-year extension for STOP Violence Against Women grant

Amanda Winkle, director of the scribe victim and ****** violence center, told the Albany County Legislature Law Committee she sought authorization to extend a one‑year contract with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to continue a STOP Violence Against Women grant. "I'm here tonight to request authorization to enter into a 1 year contract extension with the New York State, division of criminal Justice Services, to accept funding for our, stop violence against women grant," Winkle said.

The sponsor told the committee the grant totals $61,547 and would "be used to support the salaries, and fringe of our staff, as well as staff from the sheriff's office, and the district attorney's office to provide, court advocacy services to clients," and to support related services. Committee members asked no substantive questions, a motion was made and the authorization was approved by voice vote.
