"We have 2 projects on this next fiscal year. One's a July letting and one's a January letting," Aaron said, and urged the board to approve payment through the motor fuel tax form BLR 55 30.
The first resolution (agenda item 6) covers the "top 3" miles intended for the July letting; the second (agenda item 7) covers the "bottom 3" miles for the January letting and specifies an inch‑and‑a‑half asphalt overlay. Commissioners moved and seconded each measure, and the clerk conducted roll‑call votes; both measures passed by roll call with members present voting in favor.
Board members emphasized the compressed timetable. Aaron told the board the plans are nearly complete and that the county lost a staff planner recently, which added urgency to contracting an outside engineering firm to finish designs.
