Board withdraws objection after developer withdraws Sixes Road annexation request

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners voted on Feb. 17 to withdraw the county’s objection to a proposed annexation along Sixes Road after the applicant, Brock Built Homes LLC, formally withdrew its application to the City of Holly Springs.
The County Attorney told the board the city had accepted the applicant’s withdrawal and notified the Department of Community Affairs; the board then moved to withdraw its objection to the annexation, with the motion seconded and approved unanimously.
The vote concludes the county’s procedural role in that annexation matter after the applicant and city notified the county that the request had been withdrawn.
