Vice chair Krueger told the Environmental Commission on Dec. 3 that the newly formed working group on artificial turf had its first meeting and had identified scope and key stakeholders to invite. "We had our first meeting ... came up with the direction and scope of work for the group," Krueger said; members scheduled a follow-up meeting for Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
Commissioners also suggested future topics including noise pollution (ranging from leaf blowers to facility HVAC and highway noise) and recycling of construction concrete. Staff said noise-code enforcement sits with Development Services’ code division and that outreach to Austin Resource Recovery on concrete recycling is underway.
The working group will continue stakeholder outreach and report back to the commission at a future meeting.
