The Southampton County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 24 announced personnel actions following a closed session. The board said the county administrator tendered his resignation pursuant to a separation agreement that the board accepted and authorized the chair to execute, and the administrator was placed on administrative leave immediately with separation from the county scheduled for June 30, 2026.
To ensure continuity of county operations, the board appointed Ms. Lowe as acting county administrator effective immediately and approved a salary adjustment commensurate with the position. The motions to authorize the separation agreement and to appoint Ms. Lowe were made, seconded and approved on the record.
The chair told the room that the separation agreement had been accepted pursuant to board terms and that the county administrator would be on administrative leave going forward. No further personal or disciplinary details were provided in open session.
Ending: The board approved the separation arrangement and acting appointment and will handle any further personnel notification and HR steps consistent with the separation agreement and county policies.
