Commissioners adopt mining-code amendment to clarify submittals and require annual mining map
Hardee County commissioners gave final approval to Ordinance 2025-09, a county-initiated amendment to mining regulations (section 13.03) that reduces preliminary plan submittal copies, sets 21-day timing for final plans before hearings and requires the county to maintain a mining status map updated at least annually.

At second and final reading on Jan. 15, the Hardee County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved Ordinance 2025-09, an amendment to the Hardee County Unified Land Development Code addressing mining-plan submittals, review timing and mapping requirements.
