McKinney council approves $7.4M budget shift and contracts to advance airport east‑side work

The McKinney City Council on Dec. 17 approved an ordinance moving $7,400,000 of Economic Development Corporation funding into the McKinney National Airport Eastside development and authorized related construction and consulting agreements to begin the next phase of work.
Ken Carley, airport director, told the council the approvals cover Taxiway Charlie (the parallel taxiway on the airport’s east side), an FM 546 roundabout to bring vehicle traffic to the site, the apron and parking infrastructure, and terminal support work. “Tonight on the agenda, we've got four items, enabling the next phase of construction for the terminal project,” Carley said.
