Prosecutor’s office introduces two new criminal attorneys and a receptionist

Jody Hammond, chief criminal deputy in the prosecutor’s office, introduced two new criminal attorneys, saying Rob Porter “is coming to us from the city of Yakima” and brings years of prosecuting experience and that Brian Aaron “has many years of experience as a criminal prosecutor” and most recently worked in the Yakima city attorney’s office. Hammond said bringing on attorneys with prior prosecutorial experience will reduce initial training needs and help make caseloads “just a little bit more manageable.”
Hammond said the office remains one position short but expects the new hires to relieve pressure on existing staff as they learn office systems and case management processes. No formal vote on personnel was recorded in the transcript; the introductions were presented during the meeting’s consent‑agenda portion.
