Chad said the city now maintains roughly 1.1 million square feet of facilities (up from about 560,000 when the department was formed) and reported a fleet total value of about $75,000,000, with roughly $45,000,000 of that value tied to police and fire equipment. He noted the city’s fleet ranks in national fleet‑management listings and that staff are pursuing additional technician hires to support maintenance demands.
Councilmembers thanked the general services staff for the work and noted the examples of internal promotion and training. Chad closed by inviting questions; there were none that required further policy direction.
