Staff updates: solar projects, PJM transmission study noted; commissioners to request production data

Commissioner Belinda Strom said the regional grid operator PJM will conduct another study of transmission-line capacity that could affect whether projects originally planned to connect to a 115 kV line would instead require an upgrade to 230 kV, a change that could expand easement needs and affect more landowners. Commissioner Miller Adams asked about the operating efficiency of the two local solar facilities (Red House and Twitty’s Creek); staff offered to contact the operating companies to obtain production figures.
