The Camp Verde Mayor and Common Council on Dec. 4, 2024, unanimously approved the town’s 2025 meeting schedule and hours of operation, confirmed Vice Mayor Marie Moore for another two-year term and assigned council representatives to boards. Officials also held an orientation for newly sworn members.
Camp Verde’s Mayor and Common Council approved a set of organizational items Dec. 4, including the town’s 2025 meeting dates and times and a resolution establishing hours of operation, and they confirmed Vice Mayor Marie Moore to a two‑year term.
Mayor Dee Jenkins called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and presided over a session that included the swearing‑in of elected officials, several unanimous votes and an orientation by town staff.
The meeting opened with Councilor Jackie Baker raising a Point of Order about the meeting start time, saying she was “confused as to why this Regular Session was set to begin at 5:30 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m. as stated in the Town Ordinance and Resolution.” Town Attorney Trish Stuhan replied that the Mayor and Town Manager have the authority to adjust meeting times when necessary.
On organizational business, Mayor Jenkins nominated Marie Moore to serve another two‑year term as Vice Mayor. The Council approved the nomination on a 7–0 roll call vote.
The Council then considered and approved Resolution 2024‑1153, which sets the town’s 2025 meeting dates and times. Vice Mayor Marie Moore asked that Town Council, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Zoning meetings be held at 6:00 p.m.; Councilor Wendy Escoffier pointed out a Board of Adjustment meeting scheduled for Nov. 11, 2025, which falls on Veterans Day and was removed per the council’s action. The resolution passed 7–0.
The council also approved Resolution 2024‑1154 to establish hours of operation. Councilor Robert Foreman suggested the town explore Monday–Friday government office hours in 2026; Town Manager Miranda Fisher said she will review options and present them at a future meeting. Resolution 2024‑1154 passed unanimously.
Councilors discussed representatives to various regional boards and commissions and approved the 2024–2026 committee assignments on a unanimous vote.
Town Magistrate Gary Horton administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Dee Jenkins and Council Members Brian Bolton, Robert Foreman and Jessie Murdock earlier in the meeting. Mayor Jenkins also recognized outgoing Council Members Jackie Baker and Cris McPhail.
The Town Manager, department heads and Town Attorney provided an orientation covering members’ roles and responsibilities, open meeting rules, ethics and conflict‑of‑interest guidance. The meeting recessed at 7:03 p.m., resumed at 7:11 p.m., and adjourned at 8:41 p.m.
