Committee to consider inventory of artifacts found in Oneida County courthouse crawl space

Public comment noted legible documents and possible additional artifacts in the courthouse crawl space; the committee asked staff to prepare a plan and seek Corporation Counsel approval before any removal or outside involvement.

Steven Schreier, County Board Supervisor, told the committee during public comment that while in the Clerk’s Office he had seen artifacts brought up from the courthouse basement and that some documents were legible; he said he believed more items might remain in the crawl space. Kerry Bloedorn offered to enter the crawl space to take an inventory.
