Woody Krog of Hemphill Towers (Buell Consulting Inc.) joined via Microsoft Teams to present technical information about the proposed tower. Lisa Halvorson and Virginia Steinke joined by Teams to voice concerns about the tower's location. After discussion the commission determined the proposal complied with county ordinances and the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission; the board placed one condition on approval requiring lighting at the top of the tower. Commissioner Swenson moved to approve the Conditional Use Permit; Commissioner Mork seconded the motion and all members voted "Yes."
The action clears the county-level land-use approval subject to the stated lighting requirement. The meeting minutes note local concerns were raised during public comment and that the county's decision was based on ordinance and FCC compliance rather than a rejection of the concerns raised by residents.
