Wapello County staff and a vendor representative reviewed Time Clock+, a timekeeping product, during the March 2 budget work session to determine whether it meets department needs.
Jake Hill joined the meeting by Zoom and asked about department-level requirements. County staff and auditors said Secondary Roads would require DOT codes in the system so crews can be tracked moving from job to job. Staff also requested that the system record standard leave categories including vacation, sick, personal, comp, bereavement, holiday and unpaid, and asked about how the system handles shift differentials. Hill confirmed those are the types of details to configure and a follow-up meeting was scheduled for March 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the pink room with a remote link for off-site participants.
Why it matters: Accurate job and leave tracking matters for payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and budgeting. Secondary Roads’ need for DOT job codes is functionally specific and would affect configuration and rollout planning.
No procurement decision was made in the session; staff scheduled the vendor demonstration and follow-up configuration discussion.
