Clanton City Council approves bridge inspection contract and appoints delegates; Hannah Street vacation hearing draws no public comment

The Clanton City Council, meeting Feb. 9 at Clanton City Hall, approved a professional services agreement for bridge inspection services and appointed delegates to the Alabama League of Municipalities' business meeting, both by unanimous voice votes.
Councilmember Don Driver moved to adopt Resolution 2026-02-09-01 to authorize a professional services agreement for bridge inspection services; Councilmember Awlahjaday Agee seconded the motion. The minutes record that the motion passed by unanimous voice vote and Mayor Jeff Price declared the resolution adopted.
Later, Councilmember Awlahjaday Agee moved to adopt Resolution 2026-02-09-02 to appoint voting delegates for the City of Clanton at the Alabama League of Municipalities' business meeting. Councilmember Phillip Giles seconded that motion, which the council approved by unanimous voice vote.
The council also recessed for a public hearing to consider vacating a portion of Hannah Street between Littlejohn Road and 4th Avenue North. Mayor Jeff Price invited testimony in favor and against the petition; no members of the public spoke either for or against the street vacation during the hearing. The council reconvened at 5:03 p.m.
The meeting minutes record that the council approved the Feb. 9 agenda (as amended) and the Jan. 26 minutes, and then adjourned at 5:07 p.m.
