The Lunenburg County Planning Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 2 to recommend approval of Conditional Use Permit 7‑23 for Impact Arms, LLC, a proposed firearms retail, gunsmithing and cerakoting business at 3028 Poorhouse Road in Victoria.
Commissioner Trent questioned whether on‑site firearm testing was governed by the county noise ordinance or should be spelled out in the CUP conditions. Assistant County Attorney Drew DiStanislao advised the Commission that testing hours could be added to the condition requiring compliance with the County Noise Ordinance. The Commission adopted the amendment, specifying: “Comply with the County’s Noise Ordinance and be permitted to start firearm testing no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and complete testing no later than 8:00 p.m.” Commissioner Drummond moved to recommend approval with that amended condition; Commissioner Shell seconded and the recommendation passed unanimously.
