Grant County Excise Board approves routine appropriations and tax allocations

The Grant County Excise & Equalization Board met Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at the Grant County Courthouse in Medford and approved routine financial actions, including minutes and tax allocations, before adjourning.
The board, which recorded a quorum with members Kevin Kilian and Lendal Vanaman present and Chair Chuck Tolle absent, opened at 8:39 a.m. Kerstin Orcutt confirmed that the meeting notice and agenda were posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Act (Oklahoma Statutes, Title 25, §§ 301–314).
Member Lendal Vanaman moved to approve the minutes from the Jan. 7, 2026 regular meeting; Kevin Kilian seconded. The motion carried, with Vanaman and Kilian voting aye.
The board approved a transfer of appropriations after a motion by Kilian and second by Vanaman; the motion carried with both members voting aye.
Vanaman moved to approve the board’s monthly appropriations; Kilian seconded and the motion passed with aye votes from both members.
The board approved disbursement of the January mortgage tax and certification fee totaling $140.00 for distribution in February 2026 after a motion by Vanaman and second from Kilian.
Vanaman moved to acknowledge allocation of the alcoholic beverage tax for January 2026 in the amount of $14,410.65 for disbursement in February 2026; Kilian seconded and the motion carried.
Kilian moved to approve allocation of motor vehicle tax for January 2026 totaling $1,768.10 for distribution in February 2026; Vanaman seconded and the motion passed.
With no further business, Vanaman moved to adjourn at 8:53 a.m.; Kilian seconded and the vote carried. The minutes were signed and approved on March 5, 2026.
The meeting’s formal actions were limited to approvals and allocations; no contested motions or substantive policy changes were recorded.
