Buffalo County board approves routine fiscal, procurement, and licensing items

During its Sept. 26 meeting the Buffalo County Board of Commissioners approved a set of routine fiscal and administrative items including vendor claims, petty cash funds, consultant agreements, pledged collateral, and a sheriff vehicle purchase. The Board of Equalization approved motor-vehicle tax exemptions before resuming the commissioners meeting.
The board ratified payroll claims and approved the county’s vendor claims for September per a motion carried unanimously. It also authorized petty cash funds for several county offices by Resolution 2023-48 (amounts listed in the record—for example, County Attorney’s Office $26,500; Treasurer’s Office $2,250; Board of Commissioners $5,000).
The board approved adding $305,000 of pledged collateral for the Buffalo County Treasurer at Firstier Bank. It authorized Chairperson Klein to sign a Holmes Murphy consulting agreement and signed a Certification Statement from WJE Consulting LLC related to the countywide cost allocation plan.
Chief Deputy Daniel Schleusener was present when the board authorized Sheriff Neil Miller to purchase three Dodge Durango PPV vehicles under fleet pricing. The board also approved Special Designated Liquor License applications for Village 1919 (B&B Research and Investments LLC) for an Oct. 14 event at The Farm in Shelton.
As the Board of Equalization, the commissioners approved motor-vehicle tax exemptions submitted by County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich for Crane Rivers Theater (2014 Dodge Ram 2500) and Good Samaritan Society – St. John’s (several vehicles), each on unanimous votes.
