At its Dec. 12 Board of Equalization session, the Buffalo County Board approved multiple motor-vehicle tax exemption renewals submitted by County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich for local nonprofit organizations.
The approved exemptions covered vehicles used by RYDE Transit/Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska (a list of vehicles spanning model years 2008–2022), Crane River Theater Company Inc. (several enclosed trailers and bumper pulls), The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society Home Health (one 2010 Ford Fusion sedan), South Central Behavioral Services (a 2015 Toyota RAV and a 2017 Braun wagon), The Salvation Army (multiple vans and a 2024 Subaru Outback) and Sonshine World (several vans and a transit wagon). The Board approved each application by motion; recorded votes included occasional abstentions as noted in the minutes.
County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich presented the applications. Commissioners cited the organizations’ nonprofit statuses in support of the renewals; no public opposition was recorded in the minutes.
The approvals remove listed vehicles from motor-vehicle tax assessment under applicable exemption rules for qualifying nonprofit entities; the minutes record each motion and roll-call result for the record.
