Buffalo County authorizes juvenile services MOU with Sherman County and grant application

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 12 authorized Chairperson Ivan H. Klein to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Sherman County for juvenile services and directed Juvenile Services Administrator Doug Kramer to submit a Community Based Juvenile Services Aid grant application.
The action came after Administrator Doug Kramer answered commissioners’ questions about the interlocal arrangement and grant-submission responsibilities. Commissioner Sherry Morrow moved the motion, which Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The item authorizes the County to participate in the stated juvenile services aid program and to pursue grant funding; the motion does not by itself commit specific local matching funds or program details beyond authorizing application and signing the MOU. The Board recorded the approval as a formal authorization to proceed with the intercounty agreement and the grant application.
The Board took no additional formal action on program funding or service implementation during the meeting. The next procedural step is submission of the grant application by the County Juvenile Services Administrator.
