The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation at its Feb. 24 meeting declaring March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
On a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann, the board voted unanimously to adopt the proclamation, which commends the observance and recognizes the value of communities that include people with and without disabilities. Local providers, program staff, residence representatives, family members and consumers attended the signing, including Occupational Services Inc., CRI, Full Circle Residence, Lupey Behavioral Services, Fulton County Human Services and The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties.
The minutes record that a group photograph was taken with the commissioners following the proclamation signing. No funding or policy changes were recorded with the proclamation; it was recorded as an official recognition by the board.
