Charlotte County planning commission recommends aligning poultry rules with state permitting

At its July 25 meeting the Charlotte County Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the county amend poultry facility zoning rules: lowering the animal-unit threshold to 200 to match state permitting, reducing minimum acreage for initial units, adjusting additional-acreage language, changing setback language, and adding a 36-month service requirement for poultry houses.
