The Murray County Board of Commissioners recessed the May 6 meeting for a closed session under Minnesota Statute M.S.§13D.05, Subdivision 3(d) to discuss county cybersecurity and returned to open session before approving an annual cybersecurity premium.
IT Supervisor Jason Lohrenz presented the county’s cybersecurity needs during the closed session. After the board returned to open session, Commissioner Dennis Welgraven moved, and Commissioner Jackie Meier seconded, a motion to approve and move forward with the NIS cybersecurity quote for an annual premium of $20,195.84; the motion passed.
The meeting minutes record the statutory authority used for the closed session and the resulting approval but do not publish technical or procurement details beyond the annual premium amount. County staff will proceed with contract execution and implementation steps consistent with the board’s authorization.
