Charlotte County staff told the Planning Commission on Oct. 16 that the Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a hearing Nov. 3 on a front‑setback variance sought by property owner William D. Finch for 9299 Thomas Jefferson Highway (Tax Parcel #15‑A‑3D).
According to staff, the county’s minimum front setback is 125 feet from the center of the road; Mr. Finch installed a carport about 75 feet from the centerline without a zoning or building permit. Planning Commissioners did not make a recommendation to the BZA during the Oct. 16 meeting.
The BZA hearing is scheduled to allow consideration of the variance request and any public comment; staff did not provide a recommended action for the Commission to forward, and no formal motion regarding the variance was made during the meeting.
