Summary
The board approved an ingress/egress easement for neighboring landowners and adopted Resolution 26-02-17B authorizing sale of specified tax-forfeited lots in Ann Township to the Minnesota DNR to add to the Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area.
The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 17 approved an ingress/egress easement for neighboring landowners and adopted Resolution 26-02-17B authorizing the sale of certain tax‑forfeited lots in Section 36 of Ann Township to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for addition to the Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area.
Auditor/Treasurer Carolyn Rempel told the board the easement is needed to move the DNR purchase forward for the parcels identified as Lots 1–4 (Parcel 03.036.0300; 03.036.0400; 03.036.0500). The board approved the easement for landowners south of the parcels and then adopted the sale resolution by unanimous roll call (motion by Commissioner Kevin Stevens; second by Commissioner Wayne Maras). The resolution is on file in the county coordinator’s office.
The minutes do not specify the sale price or closing date. County staff recorded that the easement was approved to accommodate access needs related to the DNR purchase; further sale details were not discussed in the Feb. 17 meeting.
