Solid Waste Director Lisa Bauknecht told the committee Feb. 5 that corporation counsel confirmed testing/results and the deadline for disposing of a compost material stream, and said she is working on next steps for handling the material.
Bauknecht also reported staff discovered a camera and a smoldering e-cigarette during processing; she said she is researching ways to accept those products safely or otherwise manage disposal to mitigate fire risk and privacy concerns. The committee listed "compost update" as a future agenda item for follow-up.
