Board forms ad hoc website committee to improve county site navigation

Houghton County commissioners established an ad hoc committee on Feb. 2 to guide a refresh of the county website after officials described difficulties navigating existing pages and forms.
Commissioner Gretchen Janssen, IT contract employee Alex Radke and County Clerk Jennifer Kelly agreed to serve on the Ad Hoc Website Update Committee and will consult with Opus, the county's contractor, on requested changes and department inputs.
Todd LaRoux noted that the Building Department maintains many forms, links and credit-card interfaces online and recommended asking department heads what they need to make the site more usable. The committee will gather those requests and coordinate with Opus on next steps.
