Public Works Supervisor Bobby Groves told the fiscal court that the county's Solid Waste Management Plan five-year update has been completed and is available for public inspection in the Judge/Executive's office. Groves said a newspaper advertisement has run with viewing details and asked the court to schedule a public hearing for comments and a resolution accepting the plan.
The court agreed to hold the public hearing at the Oct. 4 fiscal court meeting, at which members of the public may comment and the court may consider a resolution to accept the plan.
Why it matters: the solid-waste plan guides waste-management policy, collection programs and compliance; public comment is part of the county's review and adoption process.
