Lunenburg supervisors adopt updated Emergency Operations Plan

Supervisor Mike Hankins moved to renew the plan as presented; Supervisor T. Wayne Hoover seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded six supervisors in favor and one absent.
The adopted resolution says the Director of Emergency Management, or the director’s designee, is authorized to maintain and revise the plan as necessary over the next four years or until ordered to return to the board. The resolution notes the county’s responsibility to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural and manmade disasters.
The adoption came amid discussion of needs uncovered by the February ice storm, including generator placement for courthouse complex systems and other continuity measures.
