Nicollet County commissioners voted Jan. 27 to approve a resolution supporting dissolution of the TH 169 Coalition after county staff told the board the coalition’s mission has been fulfilled.
Director/County Engineer Greenwood told commissioners that leadership believes member jurisdictions are now equipped to pursue corridor priorities independently and that the coalition requested jurisdictions consider approving dissolution by Feb. 1, 2026. Commissioner Jack Kolars moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Nicole Helget seconded. The motion passed unanimously on a roll-call vote.
The county’s action is a formal expression of support for members proceeding separately on corridor priorities. Greenwood characterized the decision as a transition from a joint-corridor approach to individual-jurisdiction management of future projects.
There was no public comment during the item. The resolution will be recorded in county files and communicated to coalition partners as requested.
