Delaware County commissioners approve routine claims, payroll and several administrative items

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Jan. 27, 2026, and approved routine financial and administrative business including payment of vendor claims, minutes from Jan. 20 and the Jan. 31 payroll.
Chairman David Poindexter called the meeting to order at 9 a.m. and, after a roll call noting Commissioner Jake Callihan absent, the board voted to certify that the meeting notice and agenda had been posted in accordance with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act. Commissioner David Beck made the motion; Poindexter seconded and both voted yes.
County Clerk Barbara Barnes presented a multi-fund claims list for the 2025–2026 fiscal year that the board approved. The list included vendor payments across records management, general, highway and other funds. The board also approved other routine items including the Jan. 20 minutes and the Jan. 31 payroll; each of those motions passed on a 2–0 roll call (Poindexter and Beck voting yes).
Several agenda items required no action: one item required competitive bids and was deferred, and an item assigned to the Human Resources director was not needed because the director was absent. The public comment period was opened and no members of the public chose to speak.
The meeting adjourned at 10:03 a.m. after the board completed the posted business.
