Community Development Services Director Chris Davis told the Tift County Board of Commissioners during its Sept. 5 workshop that Waterford Investment Group seeks to begin construction of Phase 2 of the Waterford Subdivision, which would add 19 residential lots, pave Kilarney Drive, extend public water and sewer lines and open a second entrance on Paulk Road.
Davis said the subdivision plan was originally approved several years ago with only Phase 1 constructed and that the Greater Tift County Planning Commission reviewed the request on Aug. 10 and recommended approval. He also reported that one person attended the planning hearing to oppose the expansion; no verbatim public testimony was recorded in the workshop minutes.
The board did not take a final vote during the workshop but indicated it wanted to place the item on the Sept. 11 regular agenda for formal consideration. If approved at the regular meeting, construction would proceed under the approved subdivision plan with the listed roadway and utility improvements.
