Spencer County Fiscal Court approved a batch of equipment purchases and personnel changes during its July 18 meeting.
On equipment, the court approved buying eight Zoll AutoPulse batteries at a contract price of $841.50 each for a total of $6,732.00, noting the county’s current batteries (from 2017) had begun to fail. The court also authorized purchase of an equipment trailer for the Road Department (authorization given up to $10,000 plus freight) and approved a $5,145 purchase of a utility trailer for the Parks Department.
On personnel, the court voted to move EMS employee Taylor Nation from full-time to part-time at $14.48 per hour; it approved promotions for Jeremiah Montgomery and Melissa Butler to Advanced EMT status with $1.50 hourly increases; and it accepted retirements from Mark Thompson (last shift July 29, effective July 30) and Milath Lawson (effective immediately). The court approved hiring Roy Curtsinger for Public Works at $15.50 per hour, contingent on background and drug screening.
The county clerk’s office declared an older KM-4800-W plat printer (approximately 13–15 years old) surplus under KRS 67.0802 and 424.130(1)(b) and authorized public auction via GovDeals July 28–Aug.4, 2022. Lynn Hesselbrock presented the surplus notice and the related procurement information.
All motions related to these purchases and personnel items were recorded as passing by voice vote (the minutes show all members responding "aye" for the listed motions).
