Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Chief Nathan B. Nation addressed the fiscal court on July 18 to present the fire district’s tax rates and to put an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) reimbursement request on the record.
Per a written letter cited in the minutes and KRS 65A.100, the fire district reported it adopted the same tax rates as the prior year: real estate at 7 cents per $100 assessed value; tangible personal property, aircraft, documented watercraft, inventory in transit, merchant inventory and motor vehicles each at 10 cents per $100.
Chief Nation also submitted ARPA Payment Request #1 seeking reimbursement of $13,528.50 for a battery-powered extrication tool purchased under an MOU. The packet included procurement quotes, an invoice and a cancelled check; the packet notes the fire district’s ARPA allocation of $75,000 and that the purchase aligns with the previously approved MOU. The minutes record the reimbursement request being presented but do not record a formal motion or vote to approve payment during the meeting.
The fire district presentation was taken as informational and placed in the record; Chief Nation provided his contact for follow-up questions.
