Dickson County Commission approves five resolutions, corrects redistricting boundary and authorizes DEA task force agreement

Motion by Commissioner Danny Williams; second by Commissioner Linda Hayes. • 03-2022-03 — Redistricting correction: Corrects an incorrectly drawn common boundary between Commission Districts 6 and 7 in the county's reapportionment/redistricting plan (Resolution No. 12-2021-07) and republishes the redistricting map. Motion by Commissioner Stacey Batey; second by Commissioner Danny Williams. • 03-2022-04 — DEA task force agreement: Authorizes the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office to enter into a task force agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration; the agreement contemplates detailing one experienced DCSO officer to the DEA task force, assignment of three DEA special agents, and DEA provision of funds for equipment and support. Motion by Commissioner Becky Spicer; second by Commissioner Dwight McIllwain. • 03-2022-05 — ARPA-funded law-enforcement equipment: Authorizes purchase of body cameras, in-car cameras, Tasers and related equipment from Axon Enterprise, Inc. at a total cost of $578,611.47 and the corresponding budget amendment to appropriate ARPA funds. Motion by Commissioner Becky Spicer; second by Commissioner Johnnie Reed.
All five resolutions passed by unanimous aye voice votes; the minutes record twelve commissioners present. The minutes do not record substantive debate on these items.
Other business on the agenda included approval of reappointments to the Work Release Commission (David Holland, Pam Edmonds and Ken Godwin), approval of the second-quarter financial reports for all funds except schools, acceptance of a petition from Bruce Road residents regarding roadway disrepair (the minutes state the petition was signed by "Seventeen (17) or Eighteen (18) Bruce Road residents"), approval of a list of notaries submitted by County Clerk Luanne Greer, community announcements, and adjournment at 7:15 P.M.
