Commissioners approve training contract, IT licensing and routine county actions
Summary

The Dubois County Commissioners approved several administrative contracts and routine business items at their Aug. 19 meeting.
Contracts and approvals: the board approved an agreement with Community Solutions, Inc. and Dubois County JRAC for a cohort-based training program to support multilingual individuals seeking careers in human services. The contract will not exceed $30,000 and covers July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
Purchases and IT: Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented a Microsoft Office 365 licensing renewal quote of $30,489.98 (202 Business Standard licenses and 2 E3 encryption licenses); the board authorized Morton to sign the agreement on behalf of the Board, and the vote was unanimous. Morton also reported a SCALE Computing Systems upgrade is scheduled for late August or September 2024.
Surplus and maintenance: The board declared surplus 100 mattresses from Community Corrections and a recorder’s office scanner and approved a Circuit Court copier/printer maintenance agreement with Hoosier Business Machines after County Attorney review; both actions carried unanimously.
Other administrative items: County Attorney Gregory Schnarr said he is working with Phil Schneider, counsel for the Airport Authority, on a loan agreement approved by the County Council. Commissioner Chad Blessinger discussed raising the Animal Control budgeted amount for Dogwood Animal Clinic to $10,000 in 2025 and was tasked to work with the clinic to create a policy to guide expenditures.
The board set the next regular meeting for Sept. 3, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
