Fulton County approves HAVA-funded security upgrades for elections office

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 approved the use of the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant to fund physical-security upgrades at the Voter Registration/Election Office.
At the meeting, the board met with Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle to review a TelePlus quote for a keycard fob installation on the Voter Registration/Election Office door and to authorize Elect IT to install additional cameras above both the Commissioners' Office and the Voter Registration/Election Office. The county approved the work to be funded from the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant in the amount of $3,000.00.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved for the approval; commissioners voted "all in favor." The action authorizes TelePlus to install door-access hardware and Elect IT’s Rick Grissinger to install the additional cameras identified in the quote and staff presentation.
The authorization is limited to the items and dollar amount presented to the board at the meeting; minutes record the grant source as the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant and the approved funding amount as $3,000. The county separately approved a TelePlus Protection System Extended Service Agreement (Silver Maintenance) for broader coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2026, which the board approved in the same meeting.
