Brett Hays, Community Corrections Coordinator, requested approval for the State IDOC grant application for a shared Northeast Indiana Community Corrections LaGrange and Steuben County program totaling $1,449,996. Dan Caruso moved to approve submission of the grant application; Ken Shelton seconded and the motion carried with seven ayes.
Hays also requested appropriation of $12,300 in funds that community corrections had earned under the grant. Council approved appropriations of $10,125 to account 9106‑255‑3000.01 (Miscellaneous Disbursement/Community Transit) and $2,175 to account 9106‑255‑3000.02 (LaGrange Jail CTP). Linda Hansen moved to approve the appropriations; Dan Caruso seconded and the motion carried with seven ayes.
The minutes record both the application approval and the internal appropriation of earned funds; the larger grant application will proceed through the State IDOC process separate from county appropriation of earned funds.
