Auditor Jason Gant reviewed the county’s 2025 budget during the Oct. 23 meeting and noted a walking-path grant presentation scheduled for Nov. 18. He also discussed ACH payments to vendors, levy matters and U.S. Bank bonds.
Highway Superintendent Doug Cimpl gave the highway department report, covering gravel crushing, tractor/mower needs, RAIF matters and consideration of a move to 8-hour workdays. The board took no formal action on the highway items.
Why it matters: the auditor’s review frames county budget priorities and identifies upcoming presentations and deadlines; highway operations and work schedule decisions affect maintenance capacity and costs.
The board recorded the presentations and will revisit policy or procurement items as needed at future meetings.
