The Jasper County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a series of 28E Agreements on Feb. 24 establishing law enforcement service arrangements between the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and five incorporated towns: Mingo, Sully, Oakland Acres, Kellogg and Reasnor.
Each motion—made by Supervisor Talsma and seconded by Supervisor Cupples—authorizes sheriff-provided law enforcement services beginning July 1, 2026, with an automatic renewal provision and a 3% increase in service fees unless a town requests a change. Votes on the motions were recorded Yea: Nearmyer, Cupples, Talsma for each of the towns.
