Lunenburg supervisors approve event venue at Parrish View Farms and a firearms-related business permit

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 14 approved two conditional use permits after public hearings and Planning Commission recommendations.
Jeff Parrish spoke for Parrish View Farms (CUP 5-23), describing existing community events and recent expansion into weddings at the 73.06-acre A-1 property on 2571 Dundas Road; Planning staff and the Planning Commission recommended approval with conditions and recommended allowing a one-hour extension to midnight with an additional hour for cleanup. Parrish said neighbors had been consulted and no complaints had been received.
Justin Clement spoke in support of CUP 7-23 to operate Impact Arms, LLC (3028 Poorhouse Road) as a primarily web-based and mail-order firearms and ammunition retail operation, with gunsmithing, cerakoting/hydrographic services and an ATF federal firearms license. Planning staff and the Planning Commission recommended approval with conditions. A separate CUP (9-23 for Jonathan and Jessica Shelton) had been withdrawn before the meeting.
Supervisor Frank Bacon moved to approve both applications with the Planning Commission's recommended conditions; the motions passed unanimously. The board did not record any public opposition during the hearings.
The approved permits carry the Planning Commission conditions presented during the hearing; applicants are responsible for meeting those conditions and any county compliance or permitting steps before commencing expanded operations.
