County Administrator Jesse Osmer reported that attorneys who represented the county in opioid remediation work approached Alpena County about participating in a PFAS class-action suit on a contingency basis. Osmer described the engagement as not requiring upfront county payments and said attorneys would take a portion of any settlement. He told the committee funds recovered could be used for PFAS-related expenses or other county needs "with no strings attached," as presented.
